New man at the helm of Safcor Panalpina Safcor Panalpina is proud to announce the appointment of James Reddy in the capacity of Managing Director with effect from 1 August 2010. James comes from Rennies Ships Agency, a company within the Bidfreight Division of Bidvest, where he was Managing Director for the past 6 years. He joined the Rennies Group in 1970 and worked his way up through a number of businesses in the group. “I am delighted to take up this dynamic position and have always admired the innovative role Safcor Panalpina has played in adding value to the global supply chain industry. In addition, and when necessary, the collaboration between and amongst Bidfreight companies enables us to offer a complete range of related services, including terminal operations, stevedoring, supply chain services and road haulage, throughout Africa and globally,” says James. James is excited about leading Safcor Panalpina into its second centenary. “Our backing by the Bidvest Group, in addition to our relationship with our prestigious international partner, Panalpina World Transport Group, affords us extended global reach and demands that our service offering is concomitant with the needs of our growing customer base. Panalpina views South Africa and our partnership, which is nearing 40 years, as a very important pillar in the network of the group.” Safcor Panalpina believes that its strategic, qualitative and cost effective solutions have been designed to optimise the supply chain objectives for its clients. “Safcor Panalpina recently obtained ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, which is designed to raise the bar in terms of service delivery. It is currently working towards obtaining environmental management standard ISO 14001 accreditation, with various green initiatives taking place throughout the business. These include environmental management, cost and energy efficiencies. “The company is also investing in a number of cutting edge IT projects, as this is paramount to improving and facilitating the communication, integration and service levels our clients are accustomed to. It will position us well for our continued journey into the seamless supply chain of the future.” James says that he is also proud to belong to such a talented and dynamic team represented by every staff member within the Safcor Panalpina organisation.
