All Safcor Panalpina Logistics Solutions are developed and supported by logistics experts who organise and manage the physical cargo flow. Our experience and understanding of complex supply and demand chains allows us to synchronise cargo flows through our infrastructure, inclusive of customised warehousing, transport and distribution solutions, with the objective of increasing the overall efficiency of clients particular logistics requirements.
Warehousing is, of course, a critical component in any logistics solution. Warehouses provide the collection, consolidation and clearing points within the supply chain which allow it to function efficiently. Our warehousing network comprises a combination of own and outsourced (bonded and free store) facilities throughout the country. The opening of a 10 000 square metre state-of-the-art logistics facility at Johannesburg International Airport in September 2005 followed by a second facility of 10 500 square metres in October 2007 save substantial supply chain costs through a faster flow of traffic than conventional warehouses. These facilities are situated adjacent to OR Tambo International Airport.
Our extensive network through owned vehicles or dedicated third party transporters provides an efficient, integrated transport system for the physical distribution of goods throughout global supply chains. In addition, we have compiled a range of enhancement features that can be added to any of our standard Air and Ocean Freight products. These meet the needs of different types of cargo such as High Value Cargo Handling (HVC) or Dangerous Goods Handling (DGR).
