PE opens its heart to abandoned babies

A visit to the AAA Safe House in Port Elizabeth brought home the truth to the saying that when you see how little others have, you appreciate how much you have. The reason it's referred to as a Safe house and not a children's home is because it's exactly that - a Safe House.
Babies that have been abused, burned and even left in pit toilets are taken there immediately after being rescued to start rehabilitation and to receive the hugs and kisses that they so rightly deserved from birth. At any given time they have up to a dozen babies aged from a few days to one year.
Safcor Panalpina Port Elizabeth decided to arrange a collection and Wow! we were impressed with the concern received. As the home's security needs to be maintained at an extremely high level, we were only allowed a handful of people to deliver the goods. We got there and were immediately introduced to the babies. One of them took an immediate liking to all the boxes and bags and started rummaging through as fast as her tiny hands would allow. Once this lost its novelty, she proceeded to start handing out the goodies to her fellow babies thus proving that no matter what she had been through in her first few months on earth - a little bit of caring has worked wonders.
