Early years	Founding of group company Hans Im Obersteg (now Panalpina Switzerland) towards the end of the 19th century.
1910	Founding of Fred Cohen Goldman & Co., predecessor of Safcor Panalpina.
1954	The Panalpina Group - now established within a holding company structure-operates as a uniform entity.
1973	Founding of Panalpina Group company Air Sea Broker, initially as an air charter broker and ship's agency co-ordinator. Further development as a wholesaler of freight capacities for the whole Group.
1973	Exclusive agency agreement signed between the Panalpina Group and Safcor Freight in respect of the South African Route.
1987	Safcor Limited listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
1993	Safcor Limited purchased by Bidvest Group Limited.
1999	Panalpina and SairLogistics co-found SwissGlobalCargo, the first ever air cargo company to provide fully integrated door-to-door airfreight services with time-definite services and no weight restrictions.
2000	Safcor and Panalpina further integrate their services through the creation of a new company - Safcor Panalpina.
2001	Safcor Panalpina incorporates the operation of Renfreight.
2004	Safcor Panalpina receives positive Black Economic Empowerment rating.
2005	Safcor Panalpina opens a 10,000 square metre state of the art logistics facility at ORT International Airport.
2005	Safcor Panalpina is re branded.
2007	Safcor Panalpina opens a second 10,000 square metre logistics facility at ORT International Airport.
2008	Safcor Panalpina launches new Purpose, Vision and Mission.
2008	Safcor Panalpina wins top spot in the Logistics, Shipping and Transport sector of Deloitte’s 2008 Best Company To Work For survey in South Africa.
2008	Safcor Panalpina wins the PMR diamond award in the freight forwarders sector.
2009	Safcor Panalpina wins the PMR gold award in the freight forwarders sector.
